Pinnacle of Toughness: The 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD

Engine and Transmission

The new Silverado 3500 has two engine options that vary in power and capabilities. The standard 6.6L V8 gas engine offers 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm with 464 lb.-ft. of torque and a towing capacity of 19,080 pounds. The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine delivers a more intense performance, boasting 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm, along with a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds.

Both the gas and diesel engine options are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth-shifting and seamless acceleration. This transmission features Tow/Haul mode, which reduces shift cycling for enhanced control and improved cooling when you’re towing or hauling a heavy load.

Appearance and Exterior

It’s impossible to miss the Silverado 3500 due to its massive structure and dominating presence on the road. The 2025 3500 comes in striking shades, like Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Summit White, and Sterling Gray Metallic. The bumpers, beltline moldings, door handles, and mirror caps are all black on the WT base trim.

The Silverado 3500’s exterior features are designed to make your workday easier, with twelve fixed cargo tie-downs and a CornerStep rear bumper. The solar-absorbing glass keeps your cabin nice and cool by blocking out the sun’s strong solar rays, while the vertical trailering mirrors give you a clear view of your trailer while driving.

Technology and Seating

The 2025 Silverado 3500 has a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AM/FM radio, and Bluetooth audio streaming. With these features, you can connect your phone to the Infotainment system and use voice commands to make phone calls while you’re driving.

There’s seating for up to six people inside the Silverado 3500, with a 40/20/40 split bench in the front and a 60/40 split-folding bench in the back. The front seats have an under-seat storage compartment for small items, while the back seats can be folded up on one or both sides to give you more interior cargo space.

Safety and Assistive Driving

The new Silverado 3500 has an extensive range of driver-assistance features that create a safer drive. This includes Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Front Pedestrian Braking. The Hitch Guidance feature ensures your trailer stays properly attached at all times by giving you an in-cabin view for checking it while driving, and the Buckle to Drive feature prevents you from moving the truck until your seatbelt is fastened.
